Glad you are ok. Folks what we do (hunting out of a tree) has risks to it. As does driving across icy roads to remote hunting spots, using yaks in frozen waters, etc.... be careful - think through your risks and test your equipment. It may look like some of us take unreasonable risks - but speaking for myself it is a calculated risk and I test my equipment. Of one fact I am sure - no deer is worth a severe injury.
Yes. Totally agree. There is some grey area when it comes to saddle hunting and safety. I don't use something unless I am 100% confident in it.
'I really feel that for many of us, the DIY aspect has made things much safer. I know my equipment inside and out because I put most of it together myself. I can tell you the weight ratings on it and I have tested everything out at home to see if it makes the cut to go in the woods.
I couldn't agree more. The weakest part of my setup is my 1500lb webbing! I was never that safe in a tree stand!
