Total system weight

My full saddle hunting setup, Mini-shikar with scout platform and 3 step rope aider, saddle, 36’ 9mm rappel rope, Safeguard w/carabiner, lineman’s rope w/carabiner, gear strap, haul/pull down rope, and abbreviated ROS, weighs right at 11 lbs. That system works for me for early or late season.

Before switching to the one-stick my system with 3 Hawk Heliums weight 17lbs.

I am the most important piece to my saddle kit, and I go about 230...everything I bring with me is down hill from there.

My saddle is in the pack. So is calls, knifes, rangefinder.... everything I need but a coat and a bow. 15.5lbs

Just basic saddle hunting needs. No packs, clothes, extras. Saddle, ropes platform and sticks
My stick with platform on in weighs a little over 2 lbs and I probably have over 2 more lbs in my rappel rope, linesman belt, belay device & carabiners

Saddle is just another pound or two. I need to weigh it all up together sometime. I don’t get too hung up on weight. Been saddle hunting 16 years and light weight is just a perk. I’d hunt this weigh even if weight was the same as packing in a climber. Be able to keep tree between me and deer is priceless and the biggest advantage I like about it!

Back when I used screw in steps I had quite a bit of weight. I like being able to get at least 30 feet, so when I used 4 or 5 of them for a ROS I carried 20 screw ins with me which isn’t light. I’ve tried several other methods since then. If I ever use steps these days I take my Treehopper hand drill & 20 carbon fiber bolts, which don’t weigh much. Lately I just one stick or use my spurs

Also prior to this year I would use my Guidos Web for all day sits, it weighs 6-7 lbs, but after discovering 2 panel saddles this year i don’t have a need to break out the Guidos.

Tenzing 4000 backpack, kestrel saddle, 16 pack of wildedge stepps and extra clothes for cold, 37lbs.
