You are a smart man....I have one myself! But don't brag too much on Jim's ability or his wait time will only get longer[/QUOTE
I love mine. What woods you get. I’ve got Juniper limbs with Cocobola riser with a thumb rest also did the XTL lam

Good choice 10essee. Mine's a Cocobolo Chimera with the XTL lam, myrtle belly veneers and prairie rattlesnake skins on the back.
I shot trad exclusively for 20 years. I was one of those hardcore trad guys that was kind of an elitist and didn't understand why guys shot compounds. Now I'm older and wiser and like all forms of archery and have no problems with the compound if thats what you want to shoot. Would rather use a compound than a rifle, but do rifle hunt from time to time. Started hunting with the compound a little about 3 years ago but still prefer the trad bows. Last year I had shoulder surgery and could not shoot a bow. That was a bummer cause archery is a big part of my life. I'm back to shooting again this year and plan on taking deer with both types of bows.
Hybrid Reflex/Deflex longbows really blur the line in my opinion and represent the best of all worlds. They can be short, just as fast as many recurves and are quieter than most recurves.
I'd check out a Samick Sage recurve. It's cheap and you can probably have one by this weekend. Your local archery store probably has them in stock or can get them right away and they have interchangeable limbs of various weights. Check out my review below...

Yup. I got one and would be my bow of choice but it’s lighter than I want. Shoots great. If I was to get another custom bow made, that’s what it would be. I’m planning to start building them as soon as I finish my house. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. May be a one and done adventure but I hope not.
I personally feel like the Bear lineup is hard to beat!! I am particularly fond of the Kodiak Magnum, and hope to get one from Santa this year. I have shot one and it was a really quiet, fast and nimble bow!I was looking at the hoyt satori, is that a good bow?
Like the tiered rack! Mine is getting tight, with bows stacked on top of bows....it's kind og an addictino isnt it?I hear you man, and good luck with the build. I'd like to try building one myself but I just don't have the room in my current place. Adding some heavier weight micarta or phenolic in the handle really seems to be a big help for some guys. I like em' all....don't care about the weight!
