Tree Saddle Hunter Magazine………

This and the GON forum are about the extent of my social media, but I’m 56 years old. Here in GA we have the GON Magazine that is probably the most read magazine around. I buy it and also like having the GA regs in magazine format as well. The GON magazine can be found locally at most convenience stores, but I’d imagine a saddle magazine(more nationally or worldly) would be mail order. I have no ideas for the magazine except maybe a thread from this forum being featured each issue? I know I’ll have saddle hunting magazines laying around here too! Great news and best of luck.

I used to love magazines. There was some thing special about getting that magazine in every month. No not that magazine guys I’m talking about outdoor life, field and stream, sports afield. I would still enjoy them but I don’t have any subscriptions now. Sometimes I’ll see one in the store that looks really interesting but it will cost $13 and I don’t buy them. It’s hard to compete with YouTube and forums but I’d definitely be interested. I’m trying to read more books and spend less time on screens these days. A new magazine subscription would be nice.

Ditto this! I have a box of Golf Digest magazines from the early 90’s I’ll probably never throw out!

There are numerous companies going to the print style magazine format for their products.
The first one I remember looking through was the Patagonia catalog that would show up. It had/has the most amazing photos in it if rock climbers and surfers and skiers around the world. I now see Sitka doing it, Stone Glacier doing it and several other companies. I’d imagine some analyst ran the budget and said it was worth it still, even in 2023 to do print media.
I have also seen the print version of this as well and it is also very well done with articles and photos.

https://fieldethos.com/ (of note, this is Trump Jr’s magazine and website).

I think if the SH magazine has a decent website, FB marketing campaign and Instagram page it can succeed. Just like any influencer in todays media algorithm.

I’d also like to the first to say that they should dedicate a 400 word column to @Weldabeast each issue entitled “Sweatin and Swingin in the South!”

Poems, haikus, and ballads from the swamp

Got 5 months of hunting...dont be a hater....seen a pretty she gator and I tried to mate her...she took a chunk out and it looked like a crater...and now I'm sitting here token on a tater...hoping life flight shows sooner than later....million skeeter bites swollen red like tomaters.....

The only paper magazines I receive are part of hunting/conservation memberships I have. NDA, DU, PF, P&Y, and Michigan United Conservation Club through my local gun club. I do read 'em all. But I directly subscribe to none. FWIW.

A saddle hunting mag sounds cool, I would subscribe. Not sure of its sustained viability in this day and age.

I'm down for tailgunner's corner. But I'd hang the editor who tried to coral his free-spirited prose. He's up there with ee cummings and Faulkner when it comes to stream-of-consciousness narrative and flaunting conventional linguistic norms.
If you two had a collaboration it would break the internet……..

I'm one of those guys who loves to read in the tree. Screens are pocketed, but I've always got a book hanging from my tether. Something about reading Traditional Bowhunting while bowhunting, or Backwoodsman in the woods, is pleasantly symmetrical. If I were at the newsstand and saw a "Saddle Hunter Annual Anthology" in late October, you better believe I'm bringing it up the tree with me, along with that month's issue. Bonus points if it's the physical size of Reader's Digest or a paperback, so it doesn't get chewed up as badly in my pack.
