Does anyone know specifics of Tree spur/spike use on public land in Maryland or Pennsylvania? Can't seem to find clear answer. Thanks
 
Most states have outlawed anything that penetrates the bark due to people leaving tree steps, nails, bolts, rebar, etc. in trees. I don't think spurs really damage the trees but they drew the line banning any penetration.
