Anyone have a good plan for a squeeze they would share?
I have attempted a few searches on here. Looking to build a stiff rope squeeze to use while climbing with spurs.
Thanks

Depends on if you want a rope squeeze or a webbing squeeze. A rope squeeze is super easy as it’s basically an extra lineman’s rope and carabiner on the back of the tree, with your regular lineman’s rope connected to the carabiners on each end. It’s really that simple to make

So, I did a little more searching. It looks as if a friction saver type setup is a good option.
If I’m off track, please advise.
I need a length of static rope, tie in a loop or rated ring, a prussik with another ring tied in, thread my linesman rope through these rings and set each end far enough apart so the can not come together under load.

What rope would you recommend? Preferably some stiff that is easy to flip while climbing.
Thanks

I will help to have a stiff rope to "throw/toss" up the tree for each move. I use an actual cable tree squeeze. I tried a commercial friction saver and it was not stiff enough.

I have one set up that I will try to post a picture of tomorrow, I doubled stiff rope, it has an aluminum ring, a prussic and I use a carabiner so I can go around branches

I run the lineman’s rope through the aluminum ring then wrap the squeeze around the tree and clip the carabiner back on to the lineman’s rope. I use a ropeman with carabiner for the lineman’s rope

Good deal there.
What is the stiffest static rope I can buy to make one? Or would I just be better off buying a friction saver from arborist supply, and if I go that route, any suggestions on one with a stiff rope?

I bought that rope from REI, it is harder than woodpecker lips, the squeeze was the only thing I could do with it. The rope was too stiff to use in a grigri or madrock safeguard.

I bought these off of amazon and heat shrink wrapped them to make a stopper. If you buy a tree squeeze I think they are only available with 2 aluminum rings, I added the carabiner so I can go around branches843F53A8-8DD7-4E01-821B-F6341EE75AC1.png
