Treehopper drill bit.

I'm going to buy the treehopper hand drill soon. I'm also going to get the actual drill bit for presets. Is the drill bit size 5/16 seeing as the bolts are 3/8s? Also which do you guys prefer? EZ kut or treehopper hand drill?

I have had both hand drills. Tree hopper is way better.
I’ll think the cordless bit is 10mm

I tried the tree hopper bit after I failed with a home Depot Irwin wood bit. My 12 volt drill will barely drill a hole in our eastern hardwoods. Same result. I gave up on the idea.

12v cordless aren't the best for this application.
And the individual battery itself needs to be taken into account.
I have some older 18v that have seen better days. They've been thru tons of charging cycles. They now hardly work for home owner jobs. They poop out pretty fast.
It aint the bit. Its the battery.

I was wondering about that.
 
I prepped 4 trees a couple of weeks ago with one 18V Dewalt Lithium battery.
It’s definitely the battery.
 
I really wanted to save some money and not have to buy the 24$ bit from treehopper but I have spent the last 2 days going around town trying to find a 10 mm auger drill bit but everyone only carries standard lol.....i might just be better off and spend the 12$ I'm trying to save and just order from treehopper....
