I have seen the Paul Crave vid showing how he shaves one side down so they nest with the strap left in them.
I also see that on the website it says that this is possible. My question is, does anyone know if Mark is currently making them this way, or has plans to start? Also do they come with an ocb and strap?

Just thinking about this myself. I picked up a Ring of Treehopper Steps just the other day off a guy. Apparently you only have to shave down one tab to make them nest. I'll probably work on it this weekend. They came with a real heavy duty over center buckle strap that is real nice. I don't know if that's how they come from treehopper or not.. i didn't see it on his website.

thanks for the info. Any idea if the come with a strap or bucklle
The strap and buckle have to be ordered separately. I ordered a set on thanksgiving, haven't received them yet. I didn't see them on the website, but Mark mentioned them while we were ironing out the details of my order.

I have new Tree Hopper steps. I just tried nesting them with @DanO 's thicker, green strap....you have to push but they will stick together just enough to keep them together. I'd advise against filing off too much material there. Those wings provide stability under side pressure (one of the best things about these steps) and you don't wanna snap those off.

Mark, is usually pretty quick. Have you contacted him since you placed your order? I know when I ordered it got lost in outer space some where but he corrected it immediately when I called him.

Yeah, I emailed him yesterday. Mark has been great about answering questions and responding quickly. They just got the plates in for the Recon I ordered and will be shipping soon. I only mentioned that I don't have them yet so OP knew i didn't have my hands on them yet so i don't really have any details.

He is quicker with phone calls than emails. Also, Tom mentioned that some emails might go to his spam.

I've got 2, both styles they make. One has a hook for speed the other is sewn and you have to feed the strap (lighter and quieter). They are very sturdy.

Like that new buckle better. My steps are unmodified and the tabs on the sides actually jam into each other to make a nice row of steps when stored. No rattling. I just wrap the strap around the whole bundle.

I just got an EWO OCB. I couldn't figure this thing out perched on a stick. That pic is pretty straightforward after trying it again..
