I was just outside, in the 15 degree weather, playing with my old Treesuit. I purchased it years ago but didn't like the noisy straps.
Today I attaced my Muddy linemans belt to the two loops on either side of the seat to form a bridge and tethered to a tree with my new rope tether and Ropeman 1. Does anyone see anything wrong with this set up? Eliminating all of the Treesuits rope and going this route might offer another option for a saddle. Thoughts???

I have a treesuit and hunted out of it for years. I really never noticed the straps being noisy. Could you show a picture of your setup. I might change my setup on my guidosweb . Thanks for any help.

I am also planning on spending time with my treesuit playing with these same ideas. I have used it to kill a few deer before I purchased my saddle years ago. The problem I always had back then was sliding the strap around the tree, the only thing that helped was when lone wolf came out with the assassin I could spin completely away from the tree and use the seat to lean my stomach against so I could shoot all the way around behind, "by turning counterclockwise shots from about ten oclock to about three or four were doable." But anything from twelve oclo.ck to about three were undoable for me without making a lot of noise and movement
Like you mentioned I am going to make a type of bridge from the existing straps, or use a rope bridge attached to the straps sewn into loops maybe, then use my regular tether with ropeman with that.
I will look for any info you come up with too, please keep me informed.

This is what I was talking about. Instead of using the original Treesuit, noisy, time consuming to use ropes with a better rope bridge and tether. I'm using my Muddy lineman's belt, attached to the web loops that come permanently attached to the seat, as a bridge and tethering to the tree with rope and a Ropeman 1. It's much easier and quicker to attached, lighter in weight and quieter to use. I don't think it will replace my Trophyline saddle but it gives me another option.
