I have run into this several times in 2019.
Need had sheriffs and DNR officer involved in one case which we pressed charges

Why would someone risk their life or freedom to have a chance at a deer ?

It gets annoying but we will keep prosecuting til the message gets out

I went to put a cam and some mineral feed and hay out the other day on a property and found someone else’s trail cam. Run the card and hit this guy on it. I sent the pics to fedex print/ship to print out a few copies on waterproof paper and going to go stick on the tree I took his cam off of.

Who else has been having trespasser issues ?

I've dealt with it for years. Pulled down several ladder stands and climbers off the property. I always leave a note telling them where they can retrieve their gear. Only one person that came by to claim it, he was a young man that was genuinely confused about property border, of his Grandmothers land. Our problem is we have power lines that run thru the property, people think that means legal open access to hunt. It's very frustrating, I have everything marked with signs and purple paint, but HeyHaws will be HeHaws.:rage:

We've had it happen several times. Rifle season is crazy around here with road hunters. A guy shot a small buck off the road one year into my family's ground (where we were hunting), dad found a shell casing on the road, found the buck and had a description of the vehicle with the first few numbers of his plate so it didn't take conservation officers long to find him. It's frustrating but it happens everywhere it seems like.

It seems to be a issue all over the country. Last year was a good year for me. I didn't have any issues with trespassing. I think with all the different mobile map apps out there its helped a lot.

Looks like a young man. Perhaps a teachable moment for him? At least I hope. Definitely old enough to know better but apparently dumb enough not to care. Hope he turns around.

I have more problems with neighbors dogs than anything.

I lost access to a property due to trespassers. Land owner got fed up with them and unfortunately just locked the parcel down. Of course a stray bullet hitting his house probably didn't help. He and I chatted, no hard feelings can't blame him. He handled it much more calmly than I would have. Up here in nova it's a constant problem because parcels are being bought up by developers and disappearing. So when a parcel remains folks think they've got rights.

I have seriously had guys try to kick me off my own land before. I'm an absentee land owner (I own couple of chunks of family property about two hours away) and I have bunches of stories about people trespassing and cutting firewood, etc. Since I'm not there much I don't even try to post it or enforce a non-trespassers policy, it just won't work. My only ask of the neighbors is that they don't cut and don't pile junk on it.

My favorite story happened one day I was in the area and stopped in to check on the property. I'm walking around and see a monster (hollow but still live) beech tree had been felled. I walk up and there's no one around but a brand new chainsaw, wedges and axe there sitting on the stump. I load them up into my truck and drive into town to phone the rest of the family (pre-cell phone) to make sure no one had given anyone permission to cut. After confirming my suspicion I drove back out and was met by an absolutely fuming neighbor spouting off about how someone had "stole his new chainsaw and he had called the cops". I looked at him, glanced at the beech tree and responded "Well I took your saw and I hope the cops hurry, I don't have all day to file this trespassing and timber theft complaint." As the color drained from his face he started sputtering half-hearted apologies while he tried to convince me that my Dad (who had been dead for 15 years at that point) had given him permission to "trim some dead stuff". Obviously his idea of trimming and mine were a little different.

Just went to pull my last camera from private property, a cell cam that I stopped paying for service as of 2/1 ... got some pics on 1/31. Get to the camera and it was there as expected but in the off position and no SD card. So in last 2 weeks someone trespassed and messed w my camera. I only wish I still had service to it!!
