Trophyline ambush pro just released today

Is it the same saddle different camo?

My first saddle was delivered this afternoon.

TrophyLine Ambush Pro...
At 6’1” and 235, I ordered a L/XL.

Quick overview...
Seat area looks really large. Fabric is 3 sections sewn together.
Straps and workmanship appears to be good.
Webbing is thick, Lineman loops are stiff.
Adjustable waist belt is the only thin webbing and the only adjustment, using a sliding buckle.
Leg straps are fixed in length.
Top of saddle has double molle loops, also stiff and rugged in appearance.
Bridge is webbing, 2 straps with a slider on left side.
Pouches included are nice. Square has a zipper closure, other is a drawstring.

Stepped into it, adjusted waist belt, and took it outside.

Outside....
You guys tell me. Bridge and hook up? Do I attach to both straps, or just one and let the other self adjust with slide buckle? Do i wear the waist belt, high, low, or normal belt level?
Hip pinch... yes.
Comfortable? No. Not really comfortable at all.
Came back inside to research a bit.
Any advice is appreciated.

Back outside to hang a bit more.

Attached the carabiner to a single strap on the bridge and started adjusting bridge length in an effort to find the comfort zone. Learning quickly how changes to the bridge length, and position of waist belt and tether affect comfort.

i have alot to learn about saddles, and glad this Trophyline was available so I could start the process.

You are on the right track with the bridge. Also, in general, the waist belt is good at a normal belt level or even a tad below.
Play with tether height also.

Post up your feedback on what you find. I’m looking to purchase a saddle soon and would really rather only do it once. Trying to determine which one will most likely suit me.
Thanks

My thought was to go with what is available and start learning with first hand experience.
At this time, I am not the best person to offer advice.
Hoping to get some pictures posted for those interested in the details.

Finding comfort in any saddle will take some playing around. The post above says belt high or lower, which is literally opposite from what works for me. I like the top webbing above my belt and even above my hips. I have found that I like the tether height around eye level. I also have always used the bridge doubled up as it is intended to be used.

I'm running the Trophyline with the tether above my head and the hitch about as high as I can get it.
That has me in the saddle with knees slightly bent.
I been keeping my lineman's line on as an armrest.
There is a learning curve for comfort. I like riding on the hips just like my arborist saddle.
You are right in getting first hand experience.
Personally I have a hard time believing there's any HUGE difference from one saddle to another. Time will tell when I can try others.
Good luck.

In the woods last night, using the Ambush Pro saddle in place of my regular harness.
As stated, more seat time and experience will provide additional insight.
But for now, I am liking this thing and glad I bought it.
Thanks to those that responded with advice.

I've been very happy with TL AP and have found my comfort zone using it.
Flex arrives on Saturday. Plan to put some time in it, then decide which to keep. Then, try the mantis and trial it.
Unfortunately, without waiting for Saddlepalooza (which won't be close to me anyway). this is the only way to vet the current offerings.

Each brand of saddle wears differently. So if you are coming from another brand, and toss it on and try to wear it like you did the other brand it may be frustrating or uncomfortable. I wear my TL higher than any other brand that I have tried. Basically which ever direction you are trending, give it some time and make some adjustments to where you wear it, play with tether height and I am sure you can find the comfort zone in all of the saddles being sold.

I also have always used the bridge doubled up as it is intended to be used.
It seems to me there are a few ways you could hook into the bridge. One is as intended over both pieces of webbing. The other is on the side that could be considered your belt. Lastly the outer layer of webbing you would pull on to tighten it like a belt. The last one is what I think most people do when they really fuss about hip pinch. I could see it being uncomfortable almost like using block and tackle to pull your hips together. I think it’s just best to hook your carabiner around both pieces

Getting better each sit.
Starting to recognize and utilize some of the design features.
Thumbs up.
