Trophyline Wingman

Just looks like another version of the DIY sticks with a LW seat on top, or whatever brand name you prefer to chop up.

Must be reaching the end of the saddle hunting innovation phase as I hunted off a platform like this at least 10 years ago now.
Yea well it is a little different than the seats guys use to DIY but I agree its a lot of the same stuff. The more I see, the more I want to just grab another scout.

Just the basics. Maybe the stick and platform itself front, top, and or side; as well as, on the tree top, front, and side. Have you had any experience with any other of the top of stick platforms? If so can you try and compare them in a few words?

Ended up getting some pics. The only other dedicated top of the stick platform I’ve had experience with is the Sh1kar w/monarch platform. The wingman is much more stable for me than the Sh1kar. I will say the quality and CS from OOAL is top notch. That setup just didn’t work well for me.

Awesome thanks for sharing. Would you say the top of the stick is more stable or the whole stick in general is more stable. I know the shikars are 3/4” right and maybe didn’t do as well with a platform on top. I guess what I’m asking about is the platform to stick connection tight or does it seem like there is some slop in there. Thanks again for sharing.

To me it seems like the stick and platform are more stable. Here’s a few pics of how it’s attached. Not sure if the EWO standoffs would work on the platform end of this unless it was modified?

Yea it looked like you would have to have your standoffs below your platform bolts. Not sure if that would help or hurt the stability.

I think this is cool. Each time I get a new top stick platform, somebody comes out with something seemingly a little better.
First I had an artisan platform on muddy, then a scout on shikars, now a monarch on Novix minis.

And now there's this thing. Im wondering if it might just be a bit too much for the small stick as mentioned earlier.

I tried using my top step on my minis as another place for my foot along with my platform. With some decent side pressure the stick kicked out. Had it happen twice and quit using it for an extra point to maneuver with. The aerial assault video that was mentioned earlier points to what I think is the cause. He mentioned the pivoting standoff possibly causing some issues. Maybe the platform creates a different angle of leverage on the top of the stick, but I don't see it being any different since the mounting point is the same.

I wonder if it would double as a one stick.. 3 sticks in the truck. Either take 3 or the 1.
I'm using it to one stick, I added a cam cleat and filed down a notch for my tether to sit in and I've filed down a groove for my aider in the steps.

I went ahead and modded the stick with a cam cleat and EWO standoffs and double step that I already had. One sticking with the strap was a bit difficult for me. I took a standoff to work and had the tabs taken off that would wrap around the sides of the stick so it worked with the platform. The bolt is just a little short with the platform so I’ll need to get another one fix that. I didn’t noticed any stability issues from doing the mods and added a bit of foot room. These are a 9.5 work boot. I’ll hopefully have time to climb tonight.

I just ordered a EWO ultimate platform but won’t be here till the end of October, if you turn this into a one stick your out about the same amount of money, would y’all buy this or stay with the EWO?

I hacked away on mine so I could put the platform on the bottom. I agree that the EWO standoffs are by far the best option if you are gonna go this route. It’s rock solid on the tree.

Definitely not the most cost effective build though.

Had to shave off top standoffs to work.

Did you shave the tabs as well or mount it differently?

Could you mount the ewo standoff below the platform?

I personally would not mount below but all you need is a Dremel tool or the like to cut the tabs of the standoff.
