Trying One Sticking using Oplux repel line ascending and descending advise?

So I have a Wingman Platform that I’ve converted into a One Stick. I already have 38ft of Sterling Oplux set up as a repel line. What’s best way to use this ascending and descending since it’s out of spec for mech belay devises? I’ve tried using the JRB non jamming ascender hitch but even after tying and retying it I’m having trouble with it biting and holding quite right. I’ve rigged a short secondary bridge using a biner to repel with a munter. Using JRB as my backup but it’s just not working right. Any suggestions?

For Decending - Although it is with resctech, I went through the same trials. I ended up settling on a Cornell hitch and a figure 8. I had to try several different hitch cords to find the right one that would bite and release without issue. I settled on 6.5mm Bluewater dynamic prusik cord. I couldn't get a second bridge to feel right, so I put the 8 on the same carabiner as the cornel. I've practiced a bunch and it is nearly as smooth as my mad rock.

Ascending I still use a Cornell but it is on a short tether. I just prefer not having to manage the extra line that would always snag on my stick when I climbed on my rappel.

Cornell is great. Double Michoacán is nice for SRT also. I’m a fan of the 6mm Excel Racing Dinghy Control Line for the hitch cord on oplux. I also like the super munter as it makes for less twist in the rope and a more controlled descent.

You might want to try a WLR hitch also. Very smooth and doesn’t bind up.

Cornell is the best compact hitch I’ve used. You can also do the bottom loop and swoop of the Cornell 2x and make it even smoother. When I do this I use the top leg for the fancy stuff the first time then use the bottom leg the second time.

I have personally been using the longhorn agile hitch from JRB and it is working perfectly for srt climbing, very easy to tie and I am using 6mm Sterling hitch cord on 8 mm rope! Bites great and releases very easy. I ran the JRB compact hitch for awhile as well but this hitch performs much better in my opinion and super simple to tie! Good luck and God Bless

Thanks for the responses!!!! Do you use a tender with the Cornell Hitch?

On a short tether that I’m not trying to get through a crotch, yes. On a long rope for SRT, no as I’m shoving the hitch up the rope with my weight in a Garda hitch below the hitch, meaning I can’t lift the rope to utilize a tender even if it was there.
