Anyone ever use a turkey vest to carry gear and climbing method. I’m fairly new to saddle hunting and struggling coming up with a method to carry all the gear. I’ve alway use loc on wind walker with climbing sticks. I’ve tried 3 different backpacks and it just slowed me down so much. Maybe it was just the wrong pack but I need help please.

I wear a bino harness by Alaska Guide Creations. This wouldn’t help you haul your climbing system so it may not be the solution your looking for. I really like it because it allows me to carry essentials like binos, rangefinder, tags, knife, grunt tube and windicator right on my chest for easy access. I then can use SYS Haulers to wear in ropes, release, headlamp, etc. on my saddle. Only thing that goes on my back is climbing system/outer layers

I've been using my turkey vest for years, even back into my climbing treestand days. I like that there's separate storage pockets for everything, it helps keep me a little better organized. Also most of the pockets are on the front where I can reach stuff with the vest on. I don't have to remove a pack to get gear out. The best part I discovered this season is that the ventilation padding in the back doubles nicely as a knee pad while sitting in the saddle with my knees to the tree.

@WHW uses a primis bowhunter vest. I've played around with a turvey vest, but the one I had hung over my saddle. Didn't love it.

I've been using a Primos Bowhunting vest for the past 10 seasons. I find that it's perfect for not having to use a back pack. With all the outer pockets, as well as two large inner pockets, I can carry all the small items that I might need, with the contents protected by the zipper pockets. It's great to know that when I put it on I don't have to worry about forgetting to bring necessary and important gear. Also, I don't notice the extra weight like I would with a pack. I find that it's also saddlehunter friendly.

This picture illustrates just some of the things that I have used the vest to transport.
