Been trying to over think how to pack stuff in this season. My question is about turkey vests.

I have an Old Tom strap vest. really lightweight. Going to load it down the game bag with 10 squirrel steps. Seems to be easy access and they weigh less than a turkey.

Anyone have success toting their gear in a turkey vest? Which one and how does it hold up?

Been using my Turkey vest forever, long before I Saddle hunted. The vest in the video is easily 15 years old and has been on EVERY deer and turkey hunt I've ventured on in that time frame. NIce thing is I can keep the essentials right in the vest and then just swap out specific gear between deer and turkey season.

That's an awesome video. I've seen the tactical taters and like them. My old tom vest doesn't have near the pockets. I'm also concerned about the weight it can handle. The material on the back is pretty lightweight. I'm gonna test it out before loading it up real heavy. maybe combine it with a fanny pack if needed.

Climbed this morning with 10 squirrel steps in the game bag. Worked great. Just think that lightweight material on the old Tom won’t hold up over time.
