Turning muddy stick into platform

So I’m currently using a muddy stick and just standing on the top step but would like to make something that is a bit bigger and more comfortable. I thought about trying to find something that will slip over the steps to make them larger. Has anyone tried anything like this? Like pvc or something similar. PVC may be noisy though, I could see my rubber buts squeaking on them
