Tying a prusik knot

I’m having a brain fart today. Is this the correct way or does the connected end need to be the loop that you hook your carabiner to?

The splice SHOULD NOT BE Where it is, in needs to be on the long section of the loop your going to clip into. The shrink wrap will limig the ability of the knot to perform properly. If you need that many wraps to get the correct amount of frinction on the qrop you are trying to use it on, your prussik cord doesnt appear to be long enough...It looks like the diameters of the two ropes are too close together, should be at least 3mm difference..

Ideally, my sewn portion is a tad bit too close to my carabiner for my liking.
