What types of rope do you use? I like the idea of splicing amsteel for a bridge. What rope do you use for tether and belt? Can you use amsteel or is something else better? I would like to use a ropeman 1 maybe with a backup knot for safety.

Amsteel is a poor choice for tether and LB, mainly because it doesnt work with ropeman or prusik, and degrades easily against bark and such.

Many people use 11mm Predator which you can order from Wespur with a spliced eye. It also works well with Ropeman 1.

I use Predator for tether and 9mm Sterling HTP for LB.

I think I looked on there for predator and they were sold out. Or maybe it was Samson

Predator is made by Samson, predator is just the rope style name and wespur currently doesn't have any of that style in stock but there are plenty of other ropes that will serve the purpose just fine though. I chose Blaze personally because i lose **** all the time and deer don't see blaze orange like we do...

Good idea

After reading about the people here using 8mm rope I switched to Beal 8mm dynamic rope which I had for tether and linesman belt. I was hanging in a tree yesterday on the tether. The Pussik is 6mm New England ropes accessory cord. I hung from it alone with the SRT rope as backup. The 6mm held fine.
