Ugh why?

No when you add up the weight of my 10mm glock 20 in my chest hoster it's about the same as carrying my compound bow!
How are you liking the 10mm? Have you shot a deer with it? I've gone down the 10mm rabbit hole. Looking to maybe use it and hardcast for a deer this fall.

I just carry my 29 10mm CCW most of the time on the street and the 20 10mm in the woods for protection we have bears and way to many coyotes here. Never hunted with 10mm just my supper black halk in 44 mag.

Very limited experience with 10mm. An old hunting buddy had one of the original G20s, with an extended Bar-Sto barrel and slide milled out for a JP red-dot. I centerpunched a jackrabbit, offhand, at 45yd with it, first time shooting it. Buddy shot a pile of javalina with it in addition to jackrabbits and coyotes. I'd be confident to use it for deer, or as backup in black bear woods. Especially with heavy hardcast. You handloading for it?

Yes, and casting my own hardcast.

Powdercoating or gas checks? As I understand it, the Glock rifling doesn't like cast boolits, but some of the aftermarkets gobble them up like candy. I've got an EAA Witness in .45 that needs a 10mm conversion kit; it takes cast .45 just fine.

Neither. I cast them out of 10 to 1 wheel weights to linotype alloy and water drop them out of the mold. This makes them hard but not brittle. Then I size the .401 and lube them with LBT Blue, a very good high pressure lube from Veral Smith. I use these in the stock barrel. The load was worked up with Accurate #9 with a chronograph, checking all the while for leading and pressure during the process. I'm getting right at 1200 fps with a 200 grain cast plain base bullet.

I've killed a few hogs with the 200 grain hard cast from double tap. Devastating on a hog scapula.

180gr hornaday XTP is what dad likes for whitetails. I'm going to attempt to kill a doe with the 10 this year, have had opportunities but never took the shot.

Sounds like a winner! I'm going to have to check out LBT Blue for my .444.
