Ultimate one stick wire handle?

Has anyone figured out a way to quiet the cam cleat? Its fine until I'm actually one sticking and when I go to grab the stick to pull it up to my next move, when taking the amsteel rope out of the cam cleat the cleat snaps back and makes a "ping" sound. I saw that @boyne bowhunter added a piece of rubber coated wire to his muddy pro but I'm not sure how he fastened inside to keep it from falling in or our of the cam cleat.

You can use a piece of electrical wire. Just twist is on the back side of the stick. You can also use a zip tie. I don't use anything. I reach down, pull the stick up and then open the cam cleat with my fingers. I don't let the cam slam closed, slow and easy moves, not fast and jerky rip the rope out moves

I must be raising my tether up too high for each move. I can't even begin to reach the cam cleat when I'm one sticking. With my muddy pro I focused on the rope instead of the top of the stick and it worked fine. The wire pull handle on top of the UOS is great but I find myself gapping my tether higher because its higher. I'm going to focus on the rope again and see if I can do it like you suggest without adding a silencer of any kind. Good tip!!

If you can reach the stick to pull the rope you aren't to high with your tether. I set my tether, sit back into the saddle, reach down and grab the top step. Then I pull the stick up and that should cause enough slack in your stick rope you can pull it up the tree and work the cam at eye level if you want.
