Ultra Light Saddle ideas?

The single t screw doesn't sound overly safe. I'd want two in the tree in case the first one failed. No different than a rock climber not relying on a single piece of protection.

I do like how lightweight and compact his system appears. Also looks like a good system if you have the emergency squirts. Tough to execute #2 from a saddle but looks doable from this setup.

If I was ever going to do the T Screw, which I don't trust our soft wood trees yet, I would definitely have some kind of backup rope that I could wrap around the tree and then hook back into the carbineer as a back up. Heck even when I use a rope I always take the slack end and figure eight it back into by carbineer because I don't trust the prussic line. I will no doubt do the same thing when I use the ropeman 1

Yeah, I do the same thing. If I'm using the grigri , the rope man, or a prussic or Blake's hitch. I tie a knot in the rope just below my attachment. I use the rope to climb and descend in half my tree setups, so I can undo the knot one handed and pull the lever on the grigri and be twenty five or thirty feet down to the ground in ten to fifteen seconds including the knot.i like having a good, quick escape plan if something happens. Of course, the paracord doesn't always pull the rope out of the tree once I've put weight on it, but I'd rather leave my rope in a tree and escape than not escape if needed.

Check out the sit drag. I got one the other day and love it! There is a thread here discussing mods and other ideas. For less than $40 it's worth a shot and the saddle and climbing gear fit in a small fanny pack!

First picture looks interesting, the second one with the strap under the thighs, not so much.
