Unwanted Stand/Saddle Friends

Here in MI Ive had hawks n owls dive at me. I no longer wear grey wool glo/mits, they look like tasty rabbits n squirrels. Also have had flying squirrels creating a ruckus. My worst was laying my seat down in my hanging stand, to find the biggest damn wood or wolf spider Ive ever seen. Screamed like an 8 yr old girl n almost jumped 20ft off. Luckily I was using a life line. But felt lime I was on a treadmill trying to get away o_O
As for Ohio, its those gray squirrels. Just rotten lil creatures. And that sound they make, b-quww b-quww. And then the next one down the line n so on and so on. :rage:
Thought about going to Wayne National forest, where i hunt, and liquidate the area b4 deer season.
Every year after my 3rd or 4th sit I say next September I’m declaring war on those stupid gray squirrels, and then I never go hunt them because I don’t want to ruin any of my spots before the opener, and the cycle continues.

@DedicatedShooter
I wouldn't let it detour me from a hunting spot. Take a can of Hot Shot, Raid or other brand of wasp killer spray and keep on hunting. Most wasp spray cans have a 20' reach. Take control of your section of the planet! :cool:
Gotta big nest of them? Nothing a grill lighter and a can of hair spray won't cure. ;) Makes for a nice little flame thrower.
Keep on hunting! :)

As someone that’s allergic to wasps this is one of my biggest worries when hunting. I have a thread on here from back when the Kestrel first came out, as soon as I got mine I used it to climb a tree in my yard to cut some limbs. I got about 8’ off the ground and cut the first limb and yellow jackets started swarming at ground level, there was a ground nest at the base of the tree.

My son who was 7 or 8 at the time was standing about 20’ away, knowing I was allergic he offered to “run into the middle of the bees and take all the stings while I got away”. One of the most selfless offers I’ve ever heard made. I thanked him but told him to stay back.

I ended up jumping down and getting away without being stung but my son did get stung when he was checking my clothes for bees. He got a trip to McDonalds for his bravery. :)

I was checking a mineral lick I had made and noticed the ground was really tore up where I remembered putting it. As I was pouring some more salt down, 2 bumblebees flew up and stung me. I then saw several more dead in the disturbed dirt. After retrieving my trail cam pics, I saw in the pics a black bear at that same spot tearing up to eat an underground bumblebee nest. My lick was actually around 10 feet to one side.
