Something not so flexible, like HTP or C-IV, would be a more efficient linesman’s belt for trying to advance it up the tree trunk. But the HTP is not as water resistant as the Oplux.

I use 9mm HTP as my linemans and it works good due to it being a bit stiffer, plus it's half the cost of oplux. Oplux makes a good tether.

Certainly no expert here but I bought HTP for both linesman and tether. I also add 40' for my rappel rope in HTP. So far I really like the stiffness with it

Used it for many years during tree work, the hardening, or cabling only became an issue when using a foot ascender. Instead of passing through the device it would get stopped and bend like a piece of wire. I recently started using Edelrid’s Swift Pro Protect, 8.9mm, with Technora in the cover for better cut resistant, stays firm but is always flexible.

Yeah you can get a sewn eye with it. Granted I don’t have any experience with it was just looking at it earlier today as I might grab some of it

Do you have a link to a business you suggest where this can be purchased in 30 meter length and not 60 unless someone here wants to make a bunch and sell them to other forum members. Hahaha.

The Edelrid, they have also recently added aramid to the covers of some of their semi static ropes. Backcountrygear sells the 11mm by the foot. Pending a sale, it looks like I’m almost sold out, should have enough for a tether, though.
