There has been cases of it crossing into other species though correct?
The diseases that it is related to (mad cow, for example) have crossed over to humans. In other words, there's not much that says it can't

The nose knows…I personally have way more faith in lean meat that I harvested myself than I do in meat from the grocery store. I have 0 idea of how that chicken was killed, how it was shipped, or how it's been treated in the store. I know to the hour when my deer died, and how soon they got put on ice or in the freezer.
I would eat last years venison in a heartbeat unless it was green, slimy, and/or stinking like rot.
Invite some not so close friends over for a game night and feed it to them, then give them a call a few days later to say how much fun you had. If they're still alive then it's still good to eat. PS. I nursed until I was twelve, it didn't hurt me any. My moms nipples on the other hand.......What if I have some hog meat leftover from 2014 that my dad just found in his freezer from when I moved? I didn’t have my chest freezer at my old apartment so I gave him like a quarter of the animal and license to grill; he never did. Now I have 5.5-year-old meat that I don’t know if I should feed to my 3-year-old and my nursing wife (lol she doesn’t nurse the 3YO before you weirdos ask )
