Versa button for securing platform

Has anyone ever tried securing platform using the lone wolf versa button? thinking about designing a platform using the versa button but all the videos i see every one is using tension method to secure platform. any thoughts would be appreciated. will post drawing if i am unclear as to what i am trying to do.

I made a custom platform that attaches to the tree with a lone wolf versa and belt. I have made a custom bracket with teeth that cams down with the seat, pushing the platform away from the tree and stretches the belt very tight. Very rigid. I think the consensus is that you can't get the platform secure enough with just the versa button. I use a DIY scooter platform without a versa button and just the camming action to secure it solidly to the tree. So you either use a button with a Klemz/Predator style platform or you just use the strap tied to the platform and cam it down.
 
I think what is necessary for this to happen is the platform must protrude behind the post opposite the tree bracket which forces the post further away from the tree allowing it to cam. Sorry I guess this is kind of what FrigidArrows said. - I would love to see that custom bracket.

I'd love to get a better look at your platform brackets to see how you made it, I've got an XOP platform that I'd like to use.

I started with purchasing a LW seat. From there it was just a matter of designing it to fit the existing holes and have enough clearance to pivot around a piece of 1" aluminum barstock. Engineer by trait, so have the luxury of solid modeling software, and know quite a few fab shops.

Nice - how does it do with side loading? This basically lets you turn a non-Klemz style platform into a Klemz with the ability to bite, extend, and cam the platform. Production starts when?
 
Side loading causes very minor twist of the platform due to the closer contact points on the tree, but does not lose bite at all. When I say minor twist, I'm talking maybe .25". 10 gauge stainless some strong stuff
 
Looks good. I'm going to try the seat at the bottom of the post with the XOP tree bracket at the top of the post... sometimes I will use the top of the post as a higher step.

That will work. Word of advice, use bushings in all load bearing holes. I didn't use a bushing on my v bracket hole at first, and the v bracket began to loosen up. It doesn't take much to deform the aluminum around the holes.
