We’ll start with this.

5/8”, 2000 pound tensile strength. This is a 6 footer. The standard 6 foot 3/4" Versa Strap weighs 3.6 oz.

Here is the weight on the Lite.

I did pull tests at the local university on my stitching on the 3/4" webbing. I had breaks from 2500 to 3000 pounds. Multiple straight stitching is a common replacement to using a bar tack. A bar tack requires a specialized machine which I don't have (yet). I also use specialized needles for webbing. They push the webbing fibers out of the way as the needle passes through versus tearing them. This helps maintain the original strength of the webbing. I also use a special silicone bonded T90 thread. When I'm rocking these straps out the needle can get hot at times. The silicone bonding on the thread helps to keep it from fraying or being cut by the needle eye due to the heat.

Awesome, thanks for the info.

For those that don't know, his "local university" is the preeminent school for science, technology and engineering in the region.

I'm curious to know if you have looked into UHMWPE (Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene ) webbing. Maybe that's what you have here? I have some woven daisy chain from Dutchware that is crazy light and very low bulk...I just can't abide the blue color for hunting. But I have seen it available elsewhere in other colors.

Quote from ripstop by the roll:

"And the numbers don't lie. We tested our 3/4" Venom™ webbing to an average break strength of over 2700 lbs. To put that in perspective, our 1" polyester webbing has a break strength of just over 1500 lbs at over 3.5x the weight!"

My 3/4 is 3000. The Venom’s price is WAY too high, $6.50 for a 5’ piece! Mine is performing great so I’ll stick with it for now.

Ok gang. Here’s the official roll out of the 5/8” Versa Lite Strap!! Let’s do a play by play. Bear with me if I start to sound like a car salesmen, Lol! I’m just really excited about these straps! Here we go!!

All straps shown are 6 footers.

This is a full figured 32” LW stick, bone stock other than the Stealth Strips with a 6’ Versa Lite strap. That weight is not too shabby guys!

Look at how clean and streamlined they are nested together with the Versa Lite straps!

Here they are with the Predator sporting a 3/4” Versa Strap.

Notice the placement of the bungee cord. It goes on and off super easy and allows room for easy nesting of the sticks.

Here is a fun wonky tree!

Here is the easiest way to remove a Versa Strap. It doesn’t matter which size you have. It works great on both.

Lift up the platform or stick to create slack in the strap. Pull the tag end of the Versa Strap away from the post (the direction will depend on whether you are right or left handed). Put your finger inside the loop from the back side.

Now just roll the top of the loop up and over the button. (The 5/8” does roll over the LW versa button a little easier than the 3/4”, just food for thought).

Pop it off and that’s it!

Here’s a few pics of the Predator rocking the Versa Lite. As luck would have it, none of these trees were the perfect diameter to fall dead center on a loop so I had to move to the next longest one. Not an issue for the Predator! Push down on the post as much as you can and cam it over. If you want it crazy tight, repeat the post push and cam over one more time.

I can’t tell you how excited I am about this system! The safety, simplicity, ease of use, weight savings, silent use, and bulk removed from your kit is awesome! Sometimes it’s the simplest things that can be huge game changers. I wholeheartedly believe this is one of them. It just works. Period.

ORDERING INFORMATION IS UP TOP IN POST #1

I have complete confidence in both strap sizes even though there is a 1000 lb strength rating between the two. I mean we’re still talking 2000 lbs on the Versa Lite! I’m happy to build either for you or mix and match. It’s entirely up to you, as with everything else in the saddle game, it comes down to your personal preference.

Starting Monday I will be including a piece of 20” bungee (instead of a permanent 16” piece) with all of the straps that go out. It will be in the tag end loop but loosely tied. Since I have no way of knowing whether you’re using them for platforms, sticks, etc, this gives you the option to customize the bungee to the way that suits you best.

Thank you all!!

Carl

knew I wasn't crazy with the amsteel daisy chain :)

I just wish Amsteel wouldn’t get chewed up so bad by tree bark. I know it doesn’t hurt the strength but I hate how it loves to snag on every little thing.
