Any tips on what to consider as I'm trying to find a vest that's good for layering once it gets cold? I'll likely keep it in the pack while walking in and then put it on once in the tree. Sounds like puffy vests are best for packability and warmth, but I've never had one and usually envision those as being noisy like a sleeping bag. Has anyone found options that aren't too noisy, or does it even matter much if it's under a quiet outer layer? I'm honestly not sure how I'd prioritize noisiness vs packability, but warmth once settled in the tree is the main problem I'm looking to solve.

I have a Badlands high uintas vest and it packs great and is warm. It is a little noisy as exterior layer but with another layer on top it’s pretty quiet. Been eyeing the pnuma heated vest for a while too.

Depends on how cold & what your trying to do, agree with the above that a good windproof vest is an amazing investment & I hunt w/o jacket many times b/c of it. Another option is......
