I was able to eliminate the bridge completely. However, for climbing with one stick, and using my tether as I climb, it pulled too tight across my waist, and the seat interfered with me climbing. It also put my belay device too low for rappelling.

So I made a new bridge.

Pretty self explanatory.

I also have been talking with John about a pack setup he's working on. I added a small backpack for holding a water bladder, and film equipment. If I'm not filming, and I don't need 2-3l of water, I won't use it. But those days are pretty common, so here it is. If it looks a little floppy, it's because I haven't quite gotten the straps on the left side dialed in length-wise. I'm playing with it to get it just right, then I'll lock everything down. But this is a great way to add a small pack to the hybrid. I'm still getting used to not being able to see the hook, but it is still pretty easy to deal with. Pics to follow

Looks great. That’s about the size of my regular pack as well. I have been playing around with a tiny kids pack I found at Academy Sports for $10, but the main limitation is that it won’t hold any water once I have it loaded with my other gear for an early season bow hunt in the mountains. I found a Nalgene bottle holder from Initial Ascent that I hope will slide over the hip belt on the JX3 to allow me to carry one Nalgene on each hip and a third on my shoulder strap.

I like the bridge. I will be trying it.

I use the Nalgene flask to carry water. They are curved on the back so you can put them in any pocket. I carry one in each pocket which is 24 ounces of water

Dang those look like a good fit. I hunt with suspenders on pants a lot, and could probably stand one in each cargo pocket. I'll have to try this out. Worst case, they'll lay flat in pack just the same.

For short hunts I only carry one. However when I am going to be there a while I carry both of them. To me they are the cats meow. I’ve been using them a couple of years now and they fit flat in anything so that makes them a lot easier to manage in your pants pocket or a pack.

I like your bridge idea however for some reason I like the bridge how it is. I just take my tether rope and run circles around it like a spring and that pulls the bridge together for more shooting room.

Kyler, do you not take your shoulder straps off when you are hunting?

I have inadvertently stood up on my LW Handclimber without remembering to put my shoulder straps back on. My hip belt was snug enough to keep the Hybrid from slipping down to my ankles, but it is definitely an attention getter. These days I keep the shoulder straps on when hunting, but I keep them so loose that I have full range of motion and I’m not even aware of them. Now if I stand without remembering to cinch down the straps there is no risk of the Hybrid slipping down.
