The areas I'm hunting in SW Va. there seems to be a preference for black oak acorns over all the other varieties this year. Any body seeing similar or different?
Same here my friend. Keep at it.Just so you guys know. This season is absolutely kicking my teeth down my throat. I can not get on a shooter to save my life! Seems like I’m constantly a day late and a dollar short… Or some random unforeseen bs happens. That is all. The grind continues.
I’m with you bruiser. The unforeseen got me good today. Ditched my sticks for tree bolts due to longer hike in. Drilling out the second hole and the tip broke on my tree hopper bit. set up 6 ft high and saw nothing. And the world keeps turning.Just so you guys know. I too am riding the fail bus. Haven't seen a single thing then the guy who hunts the parcel with me texts me a pic of the monster 8 he shot the day after I sat. Sat today and it was so windy the squirrels weren’t even out. Walking back to my truck the parcel owner says hey saw where you came out the woods, last night there was a toad 10 point and two does grazing in the field next to your stand. Shaking my head like why do I even try.Same here my friend. Keep at it.
VA opens ML the first Saturday in Nov. Gun always comes in on the 3rd Saturday so yes, the 15th will be firearms opener this year.Hi VA friends.
Trying to plan around regular firearms opening weekend in VA 2025 and I'm not able to find any documentation about when it is for 2025.
Is there a rule that VA uses similar to how PA does it? PA currently always opens the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Will it be 11/15? Thanks in advance.

Muzzleloader season actually comes in the Saturday before the 1st Monday of November. So every few years this day may fall on Oct. 30 or 31. General firearms is always 2 Saturdays after that. This year General Firearms will indeed be 11/15. Just stating this because every so often the 2nd Saturday of November will actually be Firearms opener if the Muzzleloader season opens in Oct. (such as 2026).Hi VA friends.
