WE Perch mod!

Thank you Silvio! I'm a fabricator so this stuff is always working in my head. How can I do it better? I've been meaning to do this for about 3 weeks but just got around to it

I believe the outside back supports youve created should be supported at the same angle as the step, but the inside could be supported in the same fashion. Snapping together locked underneath in the front and locked together in the back would eliminate side pressure movement completely

The standoff supports would need be 25° on both right and left..
It appears the WE steps consistant enough to do such a mod

A guy on facebook posted a video of his perch not fitting tight at all and says they are new steps that just came in this week. I wonder if there has been some change in the production? I guess its possible he could have bent a standoff first time he put it on the tree

Been playing with it..you might even consider fabricating the standoff supports on the inside, but also adding a support on the outside facing the tree
 
Love it....if WE is watching this thread.......now figure out how to eliminate the WE step all together...a perch that cams over.....with a fold-able bottom stand-off( for pack ability) combined with the perch acting as the two top stand-offs....this would eliminate all movement and noise....
 
How is the perch fins mod still holding up? Any other mods out there...?

^^^this. I wouldn’t even care if the bottom standoff was foldable. Any hinge point is a chance for noise. Either way, it would be an upgrade over the two separate pieces.
