What’s on under the saddle?

I’ve been going no belt or one of the cloth types that often comes with cargo shorts.

+1 for the soft D-ring style pants belt. You might even consider trying an elastic baseball uniform style belt.

Where the skys are so blue!
Belts are evil. So are wallets and keys. I generally take all of my pocket goodies out of my pocket at the truck when I get to where I'm hunting and put them in my pack. Keeps them from creating hot spots, and if I wade a creek or something it keeps them dry.

I wear almost exactly what I wore in the Summit. Camo jeans, belt and yes, a wallet. I align my saddle straps so that they don't lay over those things and they don't cause me any issues. I do have a special, separate wallet I carry hunting that has only my hunting licenses, last expired D.L. for ID purposes and my CPL so it's really thin. I just hate the thought of losing and/or soaking my normal wallet while hunting. I never wore it in my back pocket in the climber, I hated sitting on it so I put it in a pocket of the vest. The only problem is I would forget and leave it there if I went for a midday scout and I'd find myself carrying the pistol with no permit. In the saddle I don't even notice it and I actually think the wallet helps keep the lower strap from riding up when I'm sitting in the saddle.

Funny thing is I typically don't carry my normal wallet in my back pocket unless I'm actually going into a store or restaurant where I know I'm giing to need it. Again, I hate sitting on it. It always rides in the truck and, since the truck is where I am, its always available.

I hated sitting on my wallet also and at the advice of my chiropractor I switched to a front pocket wallet. One of the best things I ever did.

It still gets in the way when in the saddle so I move it from my front pocket to a cargo or chest pocket.

Posted this before somewhere, but I started testing this summer with an UnderArmour football girdle with soft pads built in. $12 @ TJMaxx. Change the game of football and changing it for me now. It will make any saddle feel better. It takes away hip pinch, eliminates hot spots, and the compression keeps your legs fresher during and after the hunt. Zero downside. Mine may even make an appearance in the saddle like my teammate @Blinginpse style when I start stacking up points for Team 7!

When that girdle goes on my inner uncle Rico will come out. I'm gonna give it a try.

Be sure to get the one with soft, flexible pads, no hard shell, although, those may work too.

Two inch nylon webbing for everyday belt with a plastic buckle doesn't make hot spots because of the saddle.
I wear hunting pants with cargo pockets at knee level where I put my wallet because of bulk and cell phone so I can get it out while hanging to take exciting videos and photos.

I just switched to a front wallet, and I am LOVING it. My chiropractor has told me for 3-4 years to ditch the back pocket wallet.

Get an adjustable bridge and work on shortening your bridge and tether height. What I find comfortable may not be comfortable for you but my bridge is 18" and my tether height is nipple high. I'm a 90 percent leaner.

Im new to the saddle. I was set up in the tree the other night and ended up taking my belt off and putting it in my pack. So much more comfortable after that. Sat 4.5 hours. Main thing I noticed was my lower back wasn’t hurting like when I sit in a treestand that long.

I agree with front pocket wallet, switched to that several years ago in Brazil to prevent pick pocketing. Much more comfortable and my butt thanks me too
