Anybody have an opinion which critter dropped this one in the woods within town limits? I have a suspicion but would like to hear from y’all. Thanks. 15029533-E74B-4FC1-9E5F-40CFF7D70384.jpeg

That looks like persimmon seeds. I’ve seen that a lot in the woods I use to hunt and there are no bears around. Coyote or coon.

You might be surprised about the bears being around. That does look like bear scat and it is Persimmon seeds. Coyotes will eat persimmons, but that does not look like coyote. It could be, but looks more like bears.

Depends what the coyote ate. It’s a small bear if it’s a bear. There are absolutely no bears where I use to hunt.

do you have raccoons down your way? Kinda looks like some raccon scat i've seen before also. or, I could see the case made for small bear too.

I say coon as well. I saw those piles for many years before we had coyotes. I don’t know how long it takes for something to move through a coons gi tract but finding that scar and searching the immediate area for a dropping persimmon tree hasn’t worked out for me.

Thanks for the replies and opinions. I tend to go with the majority after talking to a neighbor who found more in their backyard. Well, I guess I’ll have a can of spray with me when walking the dog n the mornings and evenings. Most likely, I won’t get to see anything other then the usual whitetail mama with two fawns.
