What gadget are you using to pull your bow up? Was just going to use Paracord but I don't want to mess with tangles in the dark.

I was using paracord last year and it wasn't that bad but this season I am one sticking and use my rappel line to do so. With my rappel line and retrieve line out I tie mine off to my dynaglide and put all the ropes back in my pouch once I am at HH and set up. Surprisingly, works well, been practicing a lot.

I’m trying the Muddy version of the Doyle’s gear hoist. It’s bulky but hoping the tension on the line will prevent most tangles.

I saw that at Cabela's yesterday, it's a lot bigger than I was expecting. I almost pulled the trigger. I'm looking for something smaller

I use a Doyle’s. It’s a little bulky but not dealing with rolling up cord when it’s hot, dark, and blood sucking insects are in a feeding frenzy makes it worth it.

I used Paracord last year and never had a tangle using the figure 8 to wind it. But I'm carrying dynaGlide this year in case I want to SRT, so planning to use that instead

I wish I was a headlight on a north-bound train

So glad I saw this. Was literally about to order a hoist on Amazon but will definitely be trying this first. This whole saddle hunting thing he’s expensive quick so it’s nice to find a good way to save a couple dollars here and there.

I have the muddy and the doyles....doyles is preferred mainly because it is the flat strap version. I used paracord before that and no matter how hard I tried I still get tangled up. I wrapped like the video and it didn't tangle on itself...it would get could up in the bark and branches... especially oak trees. The muddy is just a back up and I haven't used it over than playing with it right out the box. They are roughly the same overall size with the muddy being fatter/wider. Spooling mechanism is maybe a little cheaper feeling in the muddy. If the muddy had a flat strap option I would say they are equal. Doyles strap can still get hung up in twigs but it very rare. I also like the factory Doyle attachment method vs little biner/gear tie/tie a knot. U just need to remember to reinsert the male side back into the female side when not in use cause it can make a plastic on plastic noise when walking around. With EWO little pouch the housing isn't gonna be a noise concern being protected in fleece. The fact I don't have to wrap rope anymore is worth it to me. I reach behind me and grab the attachment thing, hook it up, climb, disconnect, and that's it.....the the rope magically disappears into it's fleece home

I started off with paracord and used it for years. But always got tangled up for me. Last season I bought a hawk hoist that lasted less than a week before it stripped. Then I bought a Doyle’s, and that thing has been an absolute godsend. It’s bulky but so worth it in my mind. I have it strapped to the molle on my pack.

Not jacking this thread, more curious.
I have the Eberlestock X2 pack. When I get to the base of the tree, I remove my platform and sticks and they get attached to my tether. I then take my bow and put it where the platform and sticks were and everything comes up at one time. Am I the only person doing this type of setup?

I was a paracord guy using Taylor’s finger method but every once and awhile it would still be a little bit of an issue. Once I moved to the X2 pack that all went away. I know it’s pack specific, but again, just wondering if anyone else has tried bringing everything up at once. Thank you.
