What is the craziest tree you have set up in?

Last night hunting a creek crossing between two corn fields I only had one tree to set up in. It was a 5 trunk huge tree that I had to set up my platform on one trunk with a huge right lean, and my tether was set up on another trunk to my left In order to keep me from swinging to far out to the right. I only had one good shot on the creek crossing but this set up allowed me to shoot perfectly stable. Love the versatility of using a saddle.

I like being in that stuff.

I have a few contenders but this one probably takes the cake. I hunted it several times and killed a nice Axis buck out of it. Hawaii has a head start on crappy “trees” to hunt out of.

Platform was ~8 feet off the ground. I’d never risk tether placement like this in a real tree.

Wow that looks like a tangled mess, I bet the climb was fun.

I hunted out of a willow tree that was almost identical to the tree you’re in in the original post. I was able put my tether on the same trunk as the platform, but I had to use my lineman’s rope as a second tether to keep me from swinging off to the left, lol.

Must be something about us Dept of the Navy that make us pick gnarly trees.

I’m going to climb one here in a bit that I stared at yesterday in passing trying to figure out how to get up to where the limbs start. It’s at least an oak that’s at least 48” at the base. I need to be able to get to where the big limbs start branching out before I attach my tether. Been watching football and contemplating it all afternoon. This would be a good time for some functional DRT or JRB knowledge.

I can’t put preset anything on the tree because it will be seen. Right now I’m thinking it’s going to be 2 LW sticks then figure it out with my one stick from there.
