What kind of sticks do you use?

I’m new to this site but not new to saddle hunting, I recently got back into saddle hunting this year after years on a regular tree stand. I saddle hunted as a teen, I’m 49 now. For you older guys out there you might remember the Andersen tree sling, I recently pulled mine out of storage and used it again after all these years and fell back in love with the saddle, I just updated my saddle to a Tethrd. So far so good except sticks. Tonight I used a set of lone wolf sticks that I have had for years and hated them. They are like new because I haven’t used them very much. I used a homemade lone wolf seat converted into a platform and that was good. But I’m looking for recommendations on sticks. Thanks Jason

I bought my parts for the modified platform from eastern outdoors and have thought about getting stuff from them to modify my lone wolf sticks as well to have double steps, but the thing I don’t like is how close you are to the tree. I have been climbing for years using rapid rails and absolutely love how far they put you from the tree and how secure they are, just wish they were a little lighter. I might experiment with trying to find a way to secure them to a horn hunter backpack that I have and see how that works.

Depends on budget , beast sticks are by far mr favorite!

I just got the beast sticks and I like them alot better than the LW. The doublestep is really nice and man do they stick to the tree.

I’m a big fan of the Hawk Helium’s with tethrd versa straps instead of the buckles. I run mine full length and couldn’t be happier. Three steps with aiders get me to right around 18 feet - plenty high enough for me.

5 WE steps with Knaider/Sawider. Picked up muddy pro stick to try 1-sticking during the off season.

Have a buddy that just picked up some Hawk Helium’s and he says they are the best he has used.

Stock length Hawk helium’s modified with beast buttons and 7/64” Amsteel daisy chain for ropes. I also have a set of 1/4” Amsteel ropes for them but so far have preferred the daisy chains. Just purchased a set of 4 muddy pros with cam cleat off camofire to try. Whichever set I like the least will be passed on to my brother.

Chopped lone wolf's with double steps. Neodymium magnets taped on for stacking. Versastrap for securing to the tree.
