What sticks to buy

no aider, I am 6'1". I stretch the gap between sticks as far as I can. I also step up two feet to my Cranford step and old Ernie platform
I am interested in your method of climbing. Say you sumstact the 2 ft. from the 25 to your platform. That means you get to 23 ft with 4 beast sticks.. Each beast stick is 22' so that is a 4 x 22 = 88" this is not veriable. I substract the 88 from 276" or 23' = 188", You have the opportunity of spacing the sticks out for 4 steps. This means you are getting 47' between stricks. You must be using Cain method to pull youself up. That is a long step.

I have full length heliums if I need to get high and api's cut short for most of my run and gun. I have been tending to use the cut api's more lately. The shorter length is great for walking and I can still get 14' without too much effort.

A bigger deal for me is a daisy chain style attachment. I hate cam buckles.

I have the lone wolf with the doublestep angled steps and really like them but if I went to a more packable stick then I'd go with beast sticks, they seem to have amazing reviews and are very light.

I have the lone wolf because I thought they were the cats meow now I'm looking at the heliums

Used the Muddy Pros for 5 years with my Guidos web.
Great stick but heavy,
they were very quick to set.
5 would get me 18+.

Sold all my sets of Pros and jumped on the Beast Wagon.
These are legit.
Stack together well.
Light.
Pack vertically sideways with platform.
Using Amsteel daisy .

Sell the wolf's and get helium. Or chop the wolf's and get double steps. Wolf's sticks are nice cause they are lighter than the hawks but hawks are nice cause the steps fold away. Or take the hardware on wolf's and flip them and use aiders to get to 30 plus ft with 4 sticks. But careful for kick out but you can eliminate that with a 3 standoffs on 1 stick or using 2 straps on one stick

I am not as technical as you man. I have a 25 ft bow rope that I bottom out with four sticks and step up to my platform.

I am just interested in learning better methods. I am using 3 Beast Stick with a knaider and swader. I base my steps on 22". I can carry a 4th stick and eliminate the swaider or go to a CAYG aider for the same height. I own a set of Muddy Pros and Hawk Helium’s (not Modified). I only use the Beast Sticks with the mini versa straps.

I have a set of 4 uncut heliums that are three years old and I do not see a difference in hunting height with the switch to 4 beast sticks. The weight difference is great. The shorter stick in the thick stuff where I hunt is a big advantage.

I’ve been thinking about this lately. I’ve used the muddy pros, lone wolfs, lone wolf mini’s, lone wolfs with double steps. And the api’s.
I don’t mean to hi jack your thread, but would like to hear honest opinions.
I see tons of guys using the helium’s. Are they that great? Or is it just a price point thing?
I love the muddy pros, but they are heavy
I’m really liking the cut down api’s too.
Has anyone used either an api stick, muddy pro stick and prefer the helium’s?
Price point, ability to mod, and double folding step for me. You don't have to mod them and they are still a great stick. I love the double folding step. Makes packing easier and I wont own a stick with out a double step, makes life so much easier in a tree.

I cut down a set of 4 Heliums and put fixed webbing alders on each with the rope mod and used them for the last two seasons and I loved them.

This year I switched to 5 WE steps with the knaider and swaider and I just like the height that I can get with the smaller package.

I was definitely faster and it was easier with the Heliums but I’m digging the WE now.

I cut down some APIs and drilled them and although I haven’t used them yet I like the way they stack and they are lighter than my cut down Heliums so I’m thinking about taking them in the woods.

I think for a morning hunt setting up in the dark the sticks with rope mods would be easier to set cause I got good enough with the Heliums to set them with no light. Not so much with WE.

I don’t think you can go wrong with anyone of them and for the low price of APIs and Heliums I don’t think you can go wrong with either.
