You get $300 to spend on anything hunting related. Whatcha getting?

Right now I'm torn between a couple them fancy cell cams DanO sells or some good cold weather boots. Leaning toward the boots. Hard to killem if your feet are to cold to stay out.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. $300 no questions, what would you get?

Unfortunately I haven’t had the stomach to spend this much on boots yet. I always seem to go for $80-90 pairs. But I hear a lot of good things about Crispi boots. I might consider trying one of them.

Go with the BOOTS! Once your feet get cold it’s game over. I learned a long time ago that your boots are as important as the bow or gun you have in your hands. Good boots and socks are critical for a good hunt!

Ooh I love the hypothetical game!!! :)

Need some qualifiers first though. What do you already have? Are you coming into hunting as a newb with nothing? Or is this after you've already spent $1800 on saddle related hunting gear and cycled through WE stepps, Heliums, Muddys, and a slew of SRT crap? ;)

Boots and some merino wool base layers
Got some merino coming in the mail from woolx.

You are in your current state, and the tooth fairy accident put $300 under your pillow. :tearsofjoy:

I got my current setup for $300. Every year I tell myself I'm gunna get a nice shiny new brand name arrow flinger, but I can never stomach the price tag!

This is why I did some real soul searching last year and landed on a bow that checks all my boxes- physically/mechanically as well as the company that makes it. I have no need or desire to get something “better” and it feels great. Trust me I’m a sucker for a new “thing” quite often too.

Can't leave me hangin brother, what did ya end up with?

Sorry about that. New Breed BX32 in the camo/color combo I wanted. Frikin awesome bow IMO and it’s special to me because it’s exactly what I wanted functionally and looks (yes looks are somewhat important to me).

Pretty much just did this, Just bought a Bear Wild single cam bow, trophy ridge drop away vertical rest, Tru fire patriot release, and a 3 pin rheostat iluminated sight. The bow was a good deal, new, and when I add peep, D loop material, I am right around 300. Then I get to new shafts since at 60-70 lbs and the heavy fromt end I insist on my 300 shafts aint gonna cut it. Didn't break the bank and I'll get to learn tuning on a single cam bow and figure out how to build a bow press since I hate to rely on someone else working on my gear.

I have boots, and my friends property comes with trail cams, so a new toy for me is where it's at.

Of course I'll still hunt with my recurve, Just another toy for an old boy.

Sounds pretty good for a heck of a price for all that. One of the things I wanted to do with my bow was set it up myself from scratch and I did. It shoots great. Maybe not perfect but dang good for a novice and I’m proud of it. And now I know better what to check and adjust if I’m having a problem. When before I was just guessing.
