How much longer? to me that would show weaker shaft and that could slow it down because of it not efficient with the bow set up. Its going to come out of the bow with more flexing and it would slow the arrow down. You want the arrow to recover/stabilize as quick as possible so it will keep up its momentum. This is part of the reason people like arrows on the stiff side.
I shot through my chronograph where I measured a 36" distance.
Easton Axis 400. 27" and 400 grains
GT Pierce Platinum 400: 26.5" and 397 grains
Victory VAP 45/60: 25" and 377 grains
Axis speed: S1-263, S2-264, S3-263. Average 263.3 fps. KE-61#'s. Momentum: .467
GT Speed: S1-264, S2-266, S3-269. Average 266.3 fps. KE-62#'s. Momentum: .469
Victory VAP: S1-271, S2-270, S3-270. Average 270.3 fps. KE-61#'s. Momentum: .452
I just realized that the last time I checked my Axis arrows I was shooting 52lbs and now I'm shooting 61lbs. That's why I thought the GT had less drag...which it would outside in the wind.
