Whats everyone using on aider steps

Had an extra vinyl door sweep. Cut with scissors to width and length I wanted to fit in tubular webbing. It's flexible enough to bend in half without breaking and always keeps the aider open.

I used a couple small pieces of 3/16” coated wired rope. I used 6” pieces so they don’t weigh much. I put them inside the 1” tubular webbing. I’ve been happy with it. They flex but aren’t going to bend or kink. They have just enough weigh to where you can “feel” them while your climbing them. Meaning you can tell where they are on your foot without looking.

In the process of stiffening up my aider steps....they were nice and stiff when first made but they softened up from use and droop....I'm sandwiching 3/16 thick rubber between the webbing and sewing together....step stiffie

I use the @SloMo method with the 24" GM Climbing loops withGM Climbing Loop Aider with SloMo-Boyne Bowhunter mods .jpg just a zip tie with the stop end cut off and slid in between the tubular webbing. Works great!
