What's going on at AeroHunter?

Wow that’s too bad. Honestly, there seems to have been pretty lackluster receptivity to any of their last three offerings. Can’t say that I blame
them from a business perspective if nothing takes off. Too bad I hope it isn’t permanent.

Many of our first diy builds were inspired by Aerohunter, mine included. I salute them for that design. If recall right, the original thread that many of us built off was spawned because aerohunter wouldn’t make a kestrel in predator camo. One of the main contributors of that thread was recruited in the very early days of Tethrd in part because of his fabrication skills there and elsewhere on the site. A lot has changed in the market since then and this news doesn’t shock me

Well this sucks. I've been using a kestrel for the past 3 seasons and have been thinking about getting a new saddle recently but really just wanted an updated kite which I thought would be coming from AH. I've just been so disappointed in their last few saddles. It seems like they were moving farther away from what everyone wanted.

Honestly I can't imagine the hunting market was all that profitable and we are the biggest whiners.

People whined because an immaterial facade fabric coating was rubbing off, so they ruined that design by making it double the fabric. Then the Shrike design was deeply flawed overcomplication and the Revo is a niche of a niche of a niche design.

Things feel like they've calmed down, at least on this site anyway (the only one I follow) but for a few years there when saddles were really taking off it seemed like the intensity level surrounding every new product release was off the charts. Every new product was greeted with 50 threads arguing whether it was a game changer or designed by 5 yr olds. With Aerohunter I always pictured a crew of hippie Arborists in Oregon just doing there thang making good products for happy customers. Then getting into SH and being barraged with angry emails about everything under the sun. They had to be questioning whether it was worth the headache.

Unfortunately I was going to pull the trigger on the Revolution. Busy design but I've been doing more rope climbing and that could've been a good fit. Hopefully they at least make a few of them.

I'm in a similar boat. I have a Kestrel and never felt the need to update. However, I was considering the Revolution since I SRT climb and my Kestrel is getting older. Guess I considered too long.

Maybe they're just shutting down for the end of the year, but I doubt I will get that lucky.

In case Aerohunter reads this: I would buy another Kite. Will need a new saddle in the next season or so.

What’s most like a kite? I think Trophyline covert but never tried it.

Maybe reach out to @Fl Canopy Stalker. He might know, he has them all.

I tried two Wood Hunting Saddles this spring. One was the "Original" Wood Hunting Saddle and the other was a smaller variant geared more towards leaning. I think that one was pretty Kite-like.
