What's your time to hunt?

As opposed to get down time which is pretty much the same every time, the time from ground to "ready to hunt" varies a lot for me. The get down works pretty much the same way regardless of circumstances but there's a lot of mitigating factors in the climb up.

A few of the factors that come into play here are:

Time of day: If it's a morning hunt and I'm climbing pre-shooting light then I just go right up the tree as fast as I'm able. If I'm climbing during legal light (morning or afternoon) I really take my time and pay close attention to what's going on around me. I often have deer show up in mid climb. This is one area where one sticking shines for me. It's nice to have a stable place to pause and/or shoot if the opportunity arises in mid climb.

Tree Configuration: Leaners and branches that need to be bypassed can add time to a climb and setup. They don't however affect the get down process at all.

Optimum cover height: I try to climb to the best combination of cover/shot clearance opportunity. That can be 10 feet to 30 feet. Again, this affects how many moves I need to make going up but has very little effect on how log it takes to get down and pack up.

That said, I think I would say I average around 15-20 minutes to be fully ready in the tree.
