Planning on scouting this piece of public over the weekend. My question is where would you expect hotspots to be? I am really interested in trying to scout with maps more and this is my start. For info this is in NW Ohio Red line is the public boundary blue dashed line is a creek. Thank you for any help you are able to provide.

I like that little piece of dirt right there.

I'd start by walking the property line, and cut the creek. Mark any good looking areas or sign, and then follow them into the interior. If there aren't any trails, I'd quarter the property and grid search each section, starting with the 4th quadrant.

Looks nice!

Here's another aerial. Easy to see what's thick in the winter it looks like. I'd start in those areas after I walked the edges and the creek. Looks like an awesome spot. Too bad it's a couple hours north for me. ;)

Thanks for the tips. Is that just Google Maps? OnX wont show me the winter view unless I zoom way in, and then it makes it hard to see the bigger picture.

Check out all the dark thick areas on there and there should be deer sign, there is probably a few trails to and from the thick areas

So that's pretty subtle topographically speaking, but I see relief that corresponds to Nutterbusters view which shows better the vegetative pattern. I agree with the others about the stream corridor, follow it, I see where two ridges point towards each other one from the N and one from the S with the crick runs more E to W going between them. It looks brushy, I like that spot.

Yep. Google maps usually has the best images in my experience. Helps that you can copy/paste coordinates directly into your search bar too. And what other scouting spp can quickly show you the nearest Waffle House when it's time for a celebratory meal?

@LarkHarrison243 I'd never post exact coordinates to a spot I wanted to hunt, but since the cat's out of the bag....

The ag fields to the east...trails leading to/from that field will make for great ambush spots especially on N/S winds.
I thought about that, but I figured the information I would gain would be worth the risk. Thanks for the reccomendation.
