This has probably been covered... but.

I have been using squirrel steps on an OCB for my ring of steps.

I don’t really trust the OCB buckle. What ratchet/strap does everyone suggest?

Curious why you dont trust the ocb? Either way when I used a ROS I used the ratchet strap that came with the SA steps worked real good. Pretty much any correctly rated ratchet strap would work.

I own a ROS, but I seldom use it, but this is what I got...
I got a 1" strap and stainless ratchet from Shippers Supply. The ratchet is heavy but its really heavy duty. What I liked best about the Shippers Supply strap is that its a thick webbing. I started out with crappy Chinese straps and they stretch and sag. The Shippers Supply ate rock solid and don't move or sag at all.
I did switch the strap to a heavy OCB, and it works well when adjusted, but the thicker webbing is a little tough to feed thru the OCB when adjusting the length.
