Have any of you ever set up WE steps to use as a platform like this? A lone wolf strap girth hitched to one side and then the other end looped over the standoff worked well. I was a little surprised I had no issues with caming them over.

That’s awesome.. I will have to try that!!

Are you caming both over or just one and then sandwiching the other to the tree?

I only needed to cam over the one with the buckle and it was very nice and tight. I think you could do both however if you really wanna nail them down. I’m hoping to find a little better way to connect the second step.

what Is the max number of stepps you’ve tried this with?

Unfortunately your looking at it. I am hoping to play with it more tomorrow. I think it will definitely be possible to add more but will be difficult to hold more that 2 in place potentially.

That's pretty cool. All you need is two steps set at 45 degrees and that will get you around most trees

There’s nothing I see here as unfortunate. It’s a clever way to replace all the ropes associated with using stepps to create a ROS. Very creative problem solving.

I put the 2 step setup to the test today. Very solid as long as I really cammed the one with the buckle on it. It will take some practice to get better at setting it up, but I think it has potential. Weighs just over 2#. No issues with side pressure or anything. It also wraps up pretty nice with a figure 8 like shown.
