Has any one shortened your straps on your steps ? It seems like there is a whole lot of extra strap for a really big tree haha . Can you cut them down and just heat the end back together ? Thanks rick

Yep that is all that you need to do.. I didn’t do it on my step but I did cut one down and made an aider for my muddy pro. They are the easiest rope to manipulate! Just hope you don’t find a bigger tree in the perfect set up and your ropes are too short. I’d rather have too long than short. Can always loop them up to keep from flapping around.
Seems like must of the trees I climb I have about 20 inches of strap hanging was thinking it would be less strap in bag also . New to saddle hunting so just learning ordered a kestrel flex now just the wait ! Lol thanks again.
What I do with my extra lengths of straps on my steps is just wrap it back around the tree again and tuck it into the strap where it’s grabbing the tree. I feel like I would regret cutting them any shorter but that’s just me. I contemplated ordering the longer straps at one point even. Just so I could fit more trees if needed.
