Had a eight pointer come right down the trail I was set up on last night. He was ten yards so I didn’t stop him. I guess I should have tried because I shot him back. At impact he jumped so high that he almost didn’t land on his feet but then he only ran maybe 15 yards and hunched up and started acting real lethargic. He walked another 15-20 yards and just stood there, so I decided to shoot him again. He was probably a good 40 yards away at that point but I couldn’t stand to watch him suffer. I shot and my arrow went right over his back, so I mocked another and tired again. This time it hit him in the chest (hard to know for sure with lighting but looked and sounded like it) and passed clean through. He jumped but then just walked a few yards and stood. I heard a bunch of weird breathing noises and it looked like he laid down a couple times as he walked out of view. I waited a while and snuck out of there. not knowing for sure about the second shot location. Heading out in a few to trail him.
