As far as the stepps being loose, on the Wild edge web page watch Andrew talk about putting them on a tree by the house and leaving them on for a couple of days. It helps to take what little stretch they have out. I am a big man so safety is my primary concern and with a quality harness and lineman's belt I am really comfortable, safe and quiet. I have a set of 12 and they weigh a fraction of my old climber and are much quieter. I am new to saddle hunting but love it already as I get to choose so many options for my set.
There are a lot of great ways to climb, just remember that coming home from the hunt is the most important.
Stay safe.
