Woobie Hoodie - are they worth for cold weather layering

Trying to get opinions on wobble hoodies if they are good for a 2nd or 3rd layer for colder weather(30 to 40 degrees). Generally wear merino base, fleece 2nd layer. I usually pack in 3rd layer.

All my guys at my last assignment were obsessed with them and they got me one as my going away/PCS gift. I love woobies and one always stayed in my pack, but the woobie hoody is mostly worn around the house.

That being said, I don’t think it would be my pick for a layer while hunting. The insulation is thin to begin with and compresses pretty easily, which is good for shoving a woobie in your pack but not so good for layering. There are much better insulation layers out there that do a better job of transporting moisture and maintaining loft. The shell fabric is fairly noisy and shiny as well, although under an outer layer it would just be the hood you’d be concerned about.
