Woodpecker/ez cut drill mechanical advantage?

What you are talking about is actually a mechanical disadvantage. If you try to get too much bite, or gear for faster speed, it will become VERY difficult to turn.

I was wondering that too. I used one of those old hand drills before and remember it not being easy.
