You don’t need near as much gear if you are only going to descend. Look into a grigri plus, it can be used to descend and ascend and has an anti-panic feature on the descent handle. Then all you need is rope, para cord and a couple of carabiners

I just use a belay device, really all you need is a belay device and a carabiner, but if you have never rappelled, you really should take a class, most beginning climbing classes are cheap and are only a couple hours

30’ of static rope $25 ish
Belay device $20-40
Or a figure 8 they run about $14-16
Screw locking carabiners $10-15 a piece
Paracord and cheap snap ring for getting your rope down $10

for what it’s worth whenever I 1 stick I just have the rope for descending in my backpack and take it out when I’m ready to go down I still climb with a tree tether, I keep a prussic on my decent line so I can get all my stuff loose then get the weight on my belay device and unhook from my prussic

Buy once, cry once... Go to doublestep.com and you can order everything you need. I use 40’ of oplux and a madrock safeguard. He even sells the perfect fleece dump pouch to store it. Being able to pack 40’ of rope, the madrock, a short bridge, and biner in a single pouch the size of a grapefruit is worth the price to me.
